Karen Gu, biological sciences graduate student (Advisor: Scott Juntti); Madison Plunkert, biological sciences major (undergraduate researcher in Gerald Borgia's lab); and Elissa Moller (B.S. ’20, biological sciences) (undergraduate researcher in Sergei Sukharev's lab) received the honor.

A new paper published in the journal Cerebral Cortex Communications by Crystal Lantz, a postdoctoral associate in biology, and Elizabeth Quinlan, a professor of biology and director of the University of Maryland’s Brain and Behavior Institute, shows that these changes in perceptual thresholds are reflected in the visual cortex.

Professor Gerald "Jerry" Wilkinson led a study that identifies age-related changes to DNA and reveals longevity-related differences between bat species. The study was published on March 12, 2021, in the journal Nature Communications.

The training program, which the NIH has supported for 26 years, funds five graduate students and two postdocs. Distinguished University Professor Catherine Carr is co-principal investigator for the program.
