My name is Yang (he/him), and I am a graduate student currently working on the effects of temperature on host-pathogen interaction in a naturally-occurring wild plant pathogen system (Anther-smut disease on white campion). Specifically, I am investigating the effects of temperature on the disease development, as well as on the host’s fitness and the pathogen’s capacity to adapt to warmer temperatures.

I joined Bruns lab at UMD at 2023. Prior to that, I earned a B.S in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology along with a minor in Natural Resources from the University of Arizona (2021), and a M.S. in Biology from New York University (2023).
