Ph.D. student

I joined the Biological Sciences program in the CBBG concentration after completing my B.S. in Biochemistry at Tufts University and working three years at Dicerna Pharmaceuticals. My research, the focus of a collaboration between Prof. Eric Haag (UMD) and Prof. Julie Dunning Hotopp (UMSOM), explores the evolution of filarial nematodes, a family of parasitic worms responsible for several neglected tropical diseases. In particular, I employ -omics data and a comparative genomics framework to investigate the consequences of sex chromosome fusions on the biology and evolution of these parasites.

Outside of research, I enjoy improv, reading, and running.
