Justin M. Calabrese

Adjunct Associate Professor [Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute]
Research Interests
I am a quantitative ecologist focusing on the interface between theoretical models and data. I work on a range of themes including the causes and consequences of animal reproductive phenology, spatial pattern formation in semi-arid ecosystems, tick-host interactions in the Lyme disease system, and more recently, animal movement analysis. My general approach is to work collaboratively with experts on the particular systems I study to help forge a stronger connection between the theoretical and empirical sides of the problem.
