What: This hands-on workshop will provide training on MAKER for gene predictions as well as Blast2GO and InterProScan for gene annotations. This workshop is geared towards researchers interested in Transcriptome and Genome reference and de novo assembly and gene annotations. This workshop will also cover the basics about High Performance Computer Clusters, raw data processing, and Next Generation Sequencing. 

Who should attend:
Undergrads, Grad Students, Post-docs, and Faculty that want to learn how to find and annotate genes or transcripts.

When:
November 25th, 2014This workshop will be held at UMD-College Park from 9am - 4pm. 
Course materials and lunches will be provided.

Registration Fee:

$125 - UMD-CP affiliates
$175 - Non-UMD-CP affiliates 

Prerequisites:


This workshop will require basic knowledge of the Terminal  (command line). If you are not familiar with the following commands this workshop will difficult.
