What: This hands-on workshop will provide training on Transcriptome and Genome Assembly. This workshop is geared towards researchers interested in Transcriptome and Genome experimental design, best practices, data processing, reference and de novo assembly. We will focus on a variety of assemblers including Velvet, Abyss, CLC Genomics Workbench and Trinity. This workshop will also cover the basics about High Performance Computer Clusters, raw data processing, and Next Generation Sequencing.
Who should attend:Undergrads, Grad Students, Post-docs, and Faculty that want to learn about genome and transcriptome assembly.
